Featured Artist

Here at moon canopy we strive for a symbiotic relationship with our customers. We realise that a significant portion of our family are wonderfully creative and artistic people.
With every moon canopy purchase we will include 3 prints of an artists work. The prints are roughly 12cm x 12cm and will be printed on 100% pure hemp paper. Hemp paper is compostable. If you ever lose possession of the prints then there is no need to worry as the paper will return to the earth.
We would like to invite you to submit your works to be considered for distribution with our products. If you would like to open a dialogue with us about possible selection of your works in the next season of art prints then please contact us at info@mooncanopy.com or through our Instagram.
We are excited to announce that our maiden featured artist is Yuki Kawae. Yuki’s work primarily focuses on the ancient traditional Japanese art of Zen gardens. Classical zen gardens were created at temples of Zen Buddhism in Kyoto. They were intended to imitate the intimate essence of nature, not its actual appearance, and to serve as an aid to meditation about the true meaning of existence.

Yuki’s work brings this ancient art into the modern age, providing us all with
moments of tranquil calm in a sea of digital noise. His geometric patterns created in a soothing, sweeping style could almost be described as hypnotic. His art is as much about the act of creation itself as apposed to the end result. It is the process, not the product that is important. Everyday the garden is wiped clean, mirroring the impermanence of existence. This is his own private meditation and we feel blessed that he has decided to share these personal moments with us all. We are very pleased that Yuki has shared with us three snapshots of his work and we are even more pleased that we are able to share them with you.
We appreciate Yuki and his work. His aesthetic is something we admire greatly and aspire to. His works encourage inward reflection and we hope you enjoy them as much as we do. You can find Yuki on Instagram @yukikawae.
